This will happen at the very top of the still where the RC cooler will knock that vapour back into a liquid, causing a reflux action. As the liquid then falls from bubbler cap to bubbler caps down, the liquid that falls is eventually foced back up through the plates again. This process of being forced to run through the caps and plates multiple times creates an end product that has essentially been distilled multiple times in a single run. Meaning you can get higher proof alcohol when compared to an empty column. The bubble plates perform a similar function as the copper packing in the hybrid column, but does so more efficiently.
