Calcium Sulfate (Gypsum) – Food Grade – 100g
Top Brew's Calcium Sulfate, commonly known as Gypsum, is an essential brewing salt used to lower mash pH, add calcium, and enhance hop crispness and dryness in your beer. Ideal for soft water profiles, it’s particularly suited to British-style ales, IPAs, and pale ales, where sulfate levels help accentuate hop bitterness and create a clean, sharp finish.
This additive provides both calcium (Ca²⁺) — crucial for yeast health, clarity, and stability — and sulfate (SO₄²⁻), which brings out hop character and balances the beer’s overall flavour profile.
