LalBrew Voss Kveik Ale Yeast is a traditional Norwegian farmhouse yeast culture from Voss, Norway, originally provided by Sigmund Gjernes, who has preserved and shared the strain since the 1980s using traditional methods. This yeast is renowned for its extreme heat tolerance, rapid fermentation, and very high flocculation, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of beer styles and even meads.
With an optimal fermentation temperature of 35–40°C, LalBrew Voss produces clean, neutral results across all ranges, often with subtle orange and citrus notes that add depth without overwhelming. It offers a short lag phase—often beginning activity within an hour—and can reach full attenuation within 2–3 days under ideal conditions.
Thanks to its high alcohol tolerance (up to 14% ABV), versatility, and strong performance, this yeast is particularly well-suited for brewers seeking quick turnaround without compromising clarity or flavour.
